PRESENTATION

Tortuga was created around an emblematic character of piracy: Jack Rackham, known as “Calico Jack”.

He is said to have inspired, along with "Blackbeard", the famous character of "Red Rackham" from the adventures of Tintin. He owed his nickname to his very colourful clothes made of calico - which earned him the nickname "Calico Jack". He is also known for having counted, among his crew, two of the most famous female pirates in history: Anne Bonny and Mary Read.

It all begins in a pirate lair, where Calico Jack, who has come to take refuge with his second and his crew, prepares his quest for the treasure. The audience then discovers the characters: the tavern keepers, the mysterious creatures initiated into magic, the kind clownish cabin boy, the disturbing pirates. Until the discovery of a map leading to the treasure.

The joys of an evening in a tavern, the tavern keepers, the fights and acrobatics of the pirates, the aerial acrobatics of characters coming from the depths of the sea, are intertwined. All these adventures bring us closer to the denouement of the show, with a final duel between the two captains, when it comes to seizing the treasure.

The show is punctuated with comic and fantastic notes, and it is in an atmosphere that is sometimes festive, sometimes mysterious that the spectator embarks on Tortuga's adventure, between laughter and thrills.

COSTUMES

All the costumes and accessories of this show are created by the company itself. The choice was made to represent all the emblematic characters of piracy; a choice justified by an artistic approach that advocates authenticity and quality.
